Afghan athlete Manizha Talash, who competes for the refugee team, was disqualified from the kick dance competition at the Paris Olympics because her words “Freedom for Afghan women .”

Details: The World DanceSport Group said Talash was disqualified for displaying a political slogan. This is against the rules of the Olympic Charter.

Despite the commission’s decision, Talash would not be eligible for the next battle, as she had lost the previous qualifying competition to athlete India Sarjo from the Netherlands.

Manizha Talash, 21, left Afghanistan after the Taliban took power in 2021. The athlete now lives in Spain.
