The Ministry of Defense has at least two plots in Guadalajara capital to build housing blocks on them. As our digital has been able to confirm, both are in the Aguas Vivas area and just a few meters from where it will be located. the new GEO headquarters.
The first plot is located in the Juncal Avenue, number 2 with an area of 2,092 square meters, and the second at Acebeda Street, number 15 with an area of 4,538 m2. According to the urban documentation, up to 105 homes with a surface area of around 100-120 square meters could be built on these two plots.
The plots are and have residential use, now it remains to be seen if the Government of Spain includes them in its plan to build 20,000 affordable rental homes on Ministry of Defense land throughout Spain. The details will be known at the next meeting of the Ministry Council on May 9.

Those two parcels in Guadalajara come from the agreement signed between the Ministry of Defense, the Castilla-La Mancha Community Board and the Guadalajara city council for the transfer of the Las Cristinas school where the new university campus is being built. As consideration for this assignment, the Ministry of Defense received four parcels: these two, for residential use to build apartment blocks, and two more for tertiary use.
Those for tertiary use are: one of almost 13,000 square meters that is located near the Cuesta del Toro on the other side of the A2, very close to the current GEOS headquarters; and the second is the space located on Avenida de Juan Pablo II that the Guadalajara city council has used this year as an extension for the fairgrounds and that the Ministry of Defense itself has for sale for just over 3 million euros.

These two plots, for tertiary use, cannot be used for housing but as equipment, to change their use it would be necessary to change the urban planning. Something quite slow and complicated.
Housing promoted by the city council
It should be noted that the two plots that do have residential use are located a few meters from two other plots in which thehe city council of Guadalajara has committed to promoting public housing and also on a rental basis. While that of the Ministry of Defense is at number 15 Acebeda street, those of the town hall are at numbers 3 and 9 of that same street. In fact, there are three plots in a row. In the two municipalities, it is planned to build 156 homes also on a rental basis.
