A few days ago, we learned with sadness that the singer Christophe was one of the many French people affected by the coronavirus. Today, as our colleagues from Here Paris reveal, the interpreter of the “Mots Bleus” is even in critical condition.
Hospitalized for several days, Christophe was transferred on April 3 to the Brest University Hospital where he was immediately intubated and ventilated. Still in a coma, the artist’s condition would be stable but requires special attention from caregivers who must regularly turn him over on his back or on his stomach to allow better oxygenation of his blood. “This helps stabilize the patient and recover better oxygenation of the blood. It will not heal the lungs, but will save time ”, entrusted a head of the intensive care unit to our colleagues from Here Paris who specify that this care is provided to the most severely affected patients.
The 74-year-old singer is particularly vulnerable to the Covid-19 since he has had pulmonary emphysema for many years, a chronic disease which causes breathing difficulties and irreversible damage which can be life-threatening. The artist can however count on the support of his relatives and the daily mobilization of all the nursing staff of the Brest University Hospital.
