Probolinggo (WartaBromo.com) – Due to PMK, cow’s milk production in Probolinggo Regency has fallen. Now per day only able to produce 20% of normal production.

The management of the Argopuro KUD business, Suloso said that his party detected additional dairy cows belonging to members who were affected by mouth and nail disease (PMK).

Of the 7,375 cows, now there are 313 infected. An increase of 84 birds from the data on Monday afternoon, May 30, 2022, which recorded 229 birds.

“With the virus, production has dropped drastically,” said Suloso when he visited the Probolinggo Regency DPRD office for an audience with people’s representatives on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Before exposure to FMD, milk production reached 40 tons per day. Now it is only capable of 8 tons or the equivalent of 20 percent from before. This means that dairy farmers have lost 80 percent or 32 tons of milk per day since the FMD outbreak.

This condition, according to him, has a very clear impact on the economic sector of the Argopuro KUD members. Moreover, his party has carried out a Lockdown since the beginning of this week.

“And this lasts up to 17 days until it closes, we estimate there will be a decrease in turnover of up to 900 million,” he explained.

He hoped that his visit to the people’s representative office could provide a solution. “Accommodating our aspirations to be forwarded to the government so that they can immediately take action,” said the advisor to the Probolinggo Regency Indonesian Farmers Association (HKTI).

Commission 2 legislators, who were assisted by dairy farmers, agreed to urge the government to use unexpected data (TT). So that executives seriously anticipate the spread of this PMK outbreak. Not only for dairy farmers, but also for other animal breeders.

“And the board of directors along with the executive have also agreed to handle it using TT funds (Unexpected, ed). Because this is a disaster,” said Wahid Nurrahman, a member of Commission 2 of the local DPRD. (cho/saw/asd)
