AFF Cup 2020: Defeat Cambodia, Indonesian National Team Improves Position in FIFA Ranking: Okezone Bola

TIM Indonesian National Team experienced an increase in the position in the FIFA rankings after a 4-2 win over Cambodia in the inaugural match of Group B AFF Cup 2020, Thursday 9 December 2021 evening WIB. Quoting from the Football Ranking page, the Indonesian national team has increased one position in the FIFA rankings compared to the November 2021 edition, from 166 to 165.

The improvement in the position was obtained by the Indonesian National Team for getting 2.44 points after winning over Cambodia. As a result, currently the Indonesian national team occupies the 165th position with 986.44 points.

For your information, even though it is not included in the FIFA calendar, the 2020 AFF Cup matches are also included in the calculation for determining the FIFA ranking position. It’s just that, the points obtained are not as big as when they fell in the FIFA tournament.

If they win over Laos which takes place on Sunday 12 December 2021, the Indonesian national team will get an additional 2.14 points. The collection of points for the Indonesian national team also touched 988 points, only two points adrift of Papua New Guinea which occupied the 164th position.
