– It was found that 13 million’fake masks’ were confiscated by US customs last year.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) cited a report from the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) under the Department of Homeland Security released on the 4th (local time) and reported that 13 million counterfeit masks were confiscated in the 2020 fiscal year ended September 30 last year.

Counterfeit masks were products that infringed the copyright of other companies, and many products imitated the products of major companies such as 3M.

In addition to masks, 177,000 corona19 diagnostic test kits banned by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and 38,000 chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine tablets banned by the FDA were confiscated over the past year.

51% of these confiscated items are of origin, the report said. CBP deployed a total of 10,000 employees in about 300 locations to engage in crackdown.
