AEW Reportedly Releases Multiple Talents In First Mass Cut After Evaluating Roster

AEW Releases 10 Talents, Primarily from Ring of Honor

AEW has released 10 talents, most of whom have primarily been working in Ring of Honor, according to reports from credible sources. The move comes after a talent evaluation conducted by the promotion, which believes these releases are in the best interests of both the company and the performers. This is the first instance of AEW engaging in mass cuts since its founding in 2019.

Despite the releases, AEW continues to pursue its goals of innovation and excellence in the world of professional wrestling.

Performers Reportedly Released

  • Stu Grayson
  • Dasha Kuret
  • Anthony Henry
  • Gravity
  • Jose the Assistant
  • Slim J
  • Parker Boudreaux
  • Jora Johl
  • The Boys (aka the Tate Twins)

Among these releases, the departure of Stu Grayson, one of AEW’s originals, is particularly notable. Grayson returned to the company in March 2023 after his contract had expired in May 2022. Dasha Kuret, who had been with AEW since 2019, making contributions in Spanish commentary and ring announcing, also succumbs to this round of cuts.

Anthony Henry, part of The Workhorsemen, suffered a broken jaw in March and had to pull out of the ongoing AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament. The Boys were also part of a storyline on ROH programming leading up to the Supercard of Honor match.

AEW’s Future Amid Mass Cuts and New Signings

The mass cuts come amidst AEW’s signing of three high-profile free agents, Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Mone. The entrance of these talents adds to the excitement and anticipation surrounding AEW’s upcoming events and demonstrates the promotion’s commitment to bringing in top-tier performers from around the world.

AEW understands the necessity of balancing roster evaluations, cost management, and future growth, ensuring the promotion remains on the cutting edge of the wrestling industry.
