Its Friday Night and you know what that means! The commentators greet us on today’s edition of AEW “Rampage” before the opponents of the first match of the evening go to the ring.
1. Match
Singles Match
Bryan Danielson won against Anthony Bowens (w / Max Caster) via submission at Libelle Lock.
Match time: 09:00
We see a look back at what happened after the match between Cody Rhodes and Andrade El Idolo on the previous edition of Dynamite. FTR and Andrade are in the interview area with Tony Schiavone. It is agreed: “Cody Rhodes sucks!“. MJF joins them and agrees with the three of them, before demanding Andrades part of a deal. Andrade gets the services of FTR for 2 weeks, in return MJF receives money, which he also receives from his assistant Jose. Harwood finally takes the floor. They are now done with Cody, now the only thing missing is PAC. With these words he challenges Pac to a match at Dynamite.
CM Punk comes to the ring to settle his differences with Eddie Kingston. He tells Kingston to come to the ring. Kingston hesitates, but eventually comes. CM Punk wasn’t exactly happy about being interrupted by Kingston in his interview the previous week. Already at Dynamite he asked Kingston to apologize. Kingston goes along with the request but apologizes to fans for failing to get CM Punk vs. Orange Cassidy. Kingston only really gets going when he tells fans who the real CM punk is. He accuses punk of being a narcissist and tells how he was convicted by punk, among other things, for being overweight. Punk replies that everyone had condemned him. Everyone saw something in Eddie Kingston, but Kingston was to blame for it if he couldn’t keep these standards or if he was never able to realize this potential. Kingston shouldn’t blame punk for losing to Bryan Danielson. The two rock themselves up until Eddie Kingston emphasizes that punk is not wanted at AEW. Everyone in the locker room would agree, but nobody dares to speak out. Kingston challenges Punk to a match at AEW “Full Gear”, but Punk refuses and suggests holding the match at Dark or Elevation according to its size. However, after Punk asks fans for their opinion, he accepts the challenge. Kingston promises punk that he will finish him off. And when he’s done with him, please get out of wrestling again. Thereupon a violent brawl breaks out, which could only be interrupted by numerous wrestlers of the AEW Rosters storming out.
It continues backstage with Tony Schiavone who has the Jurassic Express and Christian Cage as guests. Cage says the members of the Super Klique are not tough guys, as Nick Jackson claimed. Fed up with Cole and the Bucks, Jungle Boy challenges the three to a 6-Men Falls Count Anywhere Tag Team Match at Full Gear.
Back in the hall and a commercial break later, the next match of the evening continues.
2. Match
AEW TBS Championship Tournament – 1. Runde – Singles Match
Red Velvet won against The Bunny (w / Matt Hardy) via pin after the final slide.
Match time: 03:32
–For this match, Jade Cargill and Mark Sterling took their seats in the front row.
Red Velvet will meet Jade Cargill in the next round. After the match, the two women give each other some intense looks and words.
Before the main event, we see John Silver and Adam Cole in a split-screen interview with Mark Henry. Adam Cole finds the ideas that Silver has for him not at all funny and says that Silver cannot hold a candle to him. Silver makes the whole thing a bit ridiculous before Cole disappears from the picture.
For the upcoming edition of AEW “Dynamite” the matches PAC vs. Dax Harwood, Dr. Britt Baker DMD, Jamie Hayter & Rebel vs. Anna Jay, Tay Conti & Thunder Rosa, Matt Sydal & Lee Moriarty vs. Dante Martin & Lio Rush, and Bryan Danielson vs. Rocky Romero confirmed. On top of that there will be a contract signing for the AEW World Championship Match between Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page. The Full Gear Matchcard has now officially been awarded the 6-Men Falls Count Anywhere Tag Team Match Super Klique (Adam Cole, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) & Christian Cage, as well as Eddie Kingston vs. CM Punk expanded.
But now it’s time for the main event of the evening.
3. Match
Singles Match
Adam Cole (w / The Young Bucks) won against John Silver via pin after the boom.
Match time: 11:12
–After a knee strike, John Silver seemed to make the sack, but the Young Bucks place Cole’s leg on the bottom rope.
Today’s show goes off air with a celebrating Adam Cole and a loud “boom”.
