Fightful Select today reported that CM Punk seems to be poised for a return to professional wrestling as an active wrestler. According to their sources, Punk is likely to land in AEW, even if there is no confirmation of a contract, date or creative plans yet. The only thing that is certain is that Punk and a federation official got in touch and there were conversations about a return to the ring.

Of course, nothing is fully confirmed until we see a signature on a contract, but it appears that the upper floors of the WWE think Punk is headed for the All Elite. It has been confirmed by both Tony Khan that from Punk himself that there have been conversations between them in the past, but to Punk they never seemed like official offers.
