ZERO HOUR
Inside Wembley Stadium the atmosphere is truly electric for the biggest wrestling event in history: AEW All In: London. Justin Roberts arrives greeted by the audience with ovations and chants. Then the audience lets itself go spontaneously to sing “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands” to remember Bray Wyatt/Windham Rotunda, who passed away during the week.
We are before the start of Zero Hour, actually. Powerhouse Hobbs comes to the ring, set for a contract signing. He calls out Miro who is not long in coming and is very well received by the public. Miro signs the contract proposed by Hobbs, for a match at All Out, then turns the table and cleans up the security and Hobbs in the ring.
Shortly after Tony Schiavone starts talking in the ring about how fundamental the movement of European wrestling has been in the last century but Jeff Jarrett arrives with his gang and kicks him out. He then he insults the British and says the Americans are better. Paul Wight, Anthony Ogogo and Grado (who takes a standing ovation) arrive and clean up.
The show officially begins. Renee Paquette quotes the late Rotunda in his old postI learn with the phrase: «Quoting Windham Rotunda: “Wrestling is not a love story, but a masochistic fairy tale. A comedy for those who criticize the most iconic jokes. A fantasy that many cannot understand, a spectacle that no one can deny”».
Big ovation for the Aussie Open but huge for Better Than You Bay Bay.
ROH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
TAG TEAM MATCH:
AUSSIE OPEN (C) VS BETTER THAN YOU BAY BAY
The match begins with the aggression of the Champions on the challengers during the entrance. Initial phase of suffering for MJF, then comes the hot tag for Cole who takes control and comes close to victory. Misunderstanding on MJF’s Suicide Dive attempt that brings AO back to having the upper hand. MJF manages to get out of the situation and connect Kangaroo Kick and open the side to victory which then catches Adam Cole after the tag and the winning Double Clothesline.
PINWAY WINNERS AND NEW CHAMPIONS: BETTER THAN YOU BAY BAY
Cole collects the Belts and then also collects the AEW World Title. He looks at it intensely and MJF goes to get it back. Tension rises, hard looks and MJF relieves it by relaunching the challenge later in the evening. Cole walks off with his Belt and with a smile on his face, MJF stays in the ring celebrating on his behalf.
Mercedes Moné is among the VIP seats in the first ring and is framed by the public, triggering the ovation of Wembley.
FTW CHAMPIONSHIP
FTW RULES MATCH:
JACK PERRY (C) VS HOOK
Meeting well carried out by the two. The commercials are also brutal, such as the mutual suplexes on the scenic car and the Rolling Thunder on the hood of the same by Perry. The action then moves back to the ring with Perry annoying the crowd by faking the Coast-to-Coast but not actually doing it. At the first real reaction, Hook’s victory comes with the REDRUM and immediately ends Perry’s rhetoric.
SUBMISSION WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: HOOK
While the panel with Renee Paquett, Paul Wight, Kip Sabian and Anthony Ogogo goes on, Nigel McGuinness and Jim Ross enter the stadium, both very well received by the public. AEW All In: London is about to really begin.
