Kochi: “We had a different plan. Another expression of Mammooka was meant. The sketch and concept are prepared in the same way. The test shoot was different. But when Mammooka came and put some things, the whole incident changed. Even that smile of Mammooka, who became a character in a single moment, came like that. When we saw that smile, we said without knowing; Wow cool…”
Arun Ajikumar, head of the ‘Aesthetic Kunjamma’ team, tells the story of the poster of Mammootty’s new movie ‘Bhramayugam’. Mammootty’s Hollywood-style poster of Bharama Yuga, posted on social media on Thursday, became a hit.
Director Rahul Sadashivan and producers Chakraborty Ramachandra S. When Shashikanth was asked to prepare the poster, he had already decided on the Hollywood style. Deciding that the poster should reveal the nature of Mammooka’s character, the sketch was shown to the director and producer. They are ok. Said. Mammooka also liked it. After the shoot started, Mammooka gave several poses with laughter and anger. And then the thing became super. The shoot was over in 10 minutes. Mammooka also liked all the photos taken…”

Kunjamma is aesthetic
Behind the poster design-marketing company Aesthetic Kunjamma is a group of young people who will never learn to draw. YouTube was their guru. The Covid lockdown came when Arun was studying for B.Com. At home, Arun studied slowly by making posters. Arun was also an actor in Lokadharmi Natak Sangam. He has been in the acting field for more than twelve years. Started an Instagram page for posters.
“I was disgusted with the word aesthetic when I was studying in college. There was a time when any photo taken was tagged as aesthetic. That’s how dislike came. Beautiful was attached to that word. It was decided that one should be demolished, and that it should have its native name but foreign status. That is how the name ‘Aesthetic Kunjamma’ was given. That is what later became the company and Arun was the founder and creative head.
Chengannur’s J., who does video editing and graphic design, was with him to start Instagram. It was Deepak. Deepak is the creative director of the company and Idea Bank. Following is Tamil Nadu’s T.P. Satish, Yadumurukan, a native of Aluva Thirtyttadam, who was doing typography, and others came. They all became a team from online acquaintances.
Fan posters
Posters of old movies and stars have been posted in new and vintage formats. Twentieth century, a northern heroic story, Thuwanathumpi…. posters were posted one after the other. The Kunjamma team focused on giving a western twist to classic films. The page quickly gained 46,000 followers. Then came the first movie project. Kunjamma team’s first project was ‘Veil’ starring Shane Nigam. Then I got one project after another.
Flag of Ponniyin Selvan
Once, Kunjamma called Teams from Madras Talkies, director Mani Ratnam’s office. Suhasini Mani Ratnam directed the film ‘Puthamputhukalai’ which consisted of five stories and asked to title the film ‘Koffee Anyone’. Kunjamma teams made it awesome with coffee powder. After that, Ponniyin asked Selvan to design the flags. Also designed marketing fluxes for the second part. Next came Mammootty’s own Kannur Squad, Brazooka and Prithviraj’s Khalifa. Kunjamma’s children have an insatiable desire to somehow make Kunjamma famous in Hollywood.
