The artists behind the greatest hits Dream On, Love in an Elevator et Janie’s Got a Gun have informed their fans that they have made a “heartbreaking and difficult decision to retire from performing.”
Steven Tyler has not recovered from a vocal cord injury he suffered last year, according to the band’s statement. The band had announced that the 76-year-old artist had fractured his laryx, forcing the band to postpone the remainder of their farewell tour. Peace Outannounced in May 2023.
“He has spent months working tirelessly to get his voice back to the level it was at before his injury. Unfortunately, it is clear that a full recovery from his injury is not possible.”

Rescheduled dates had been announced in mid-September until February 2025.
Aerosmith fans in Quebec who purchased tickets for the January 10th farewell concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal will be refunded. They had been waiting a long time since the band was originally scheduled to perform there in January 2024, but a fractured larynx by Tyler changed the plans.
“For those who purchased your tickets through Ticketmaster, you will be automatically refunded – there is nothing else you need to do. For those who purchased from third-party resale sites like SeatGeek, StubHub, VividSeats, etc. – please contact your point of purchase,” the group’s website states.
Aerosmith’s last show in the Quebec metropolis was 20 years ago. The legendary group also wowed the crowd on the Plains of Abraham at the Quebec City Summer Festival in July 2012.
Aerosmith had mentioned in a post that “it has been the honor of our lives to have our music be a part of yours.”
Aerosmith formed in 1970. The band has won four Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
