Aeroflot’s secret flights circumvent the quarantine, the Russian press claims

International transport flights have been banned in Russia since the end of March. The only exceptions are repatriation flights, other exceptions must be licensed by the Federal Agency of Rosaviacia and the regulatory authority of the other country concerned. However, Aeroflot flies every week from Moscow to Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York, Seoul, Tel Aviv, Nice and Barcelona, the paper notes, with the last addition of Rome.

“The flights are registered as freight, but with Rosaviacija’s consent, tickets are sold for them,” two Aeroflot employees told Vědomostem on condition of anonymity. The company itself did not want to comment on the information.

Although ticket sales are not advertised, according to insiders, the demand is very high. They can only be ordered by people with a permanent residence permit in the EU to be inspected upon arrival.
