PAE AEK issued a statement regarding the refereeing of its game with Panaitolikos, in which it refers to an unprecedented alteration of the result in the VAR era. With its announcement, the Union calls for the strict application of the regulations by the referees and referees – VAR, but also the punishment of those who do not comply with the regulations.
Dikephalos’ announcement in detail: “From the day that Mr. Marios Iliopoulos assumed ownership of PAE AEK and even before the start of the championship, PAE AEK showed a good attitude in all directions! We supported the choice of Mr. Stéphane Lanois, showing absolute respect to the football authorities of the country and the European confederation. We have acted strictly and only institutionally!
However, we regret to note that some do not show the corresponding respect to AEK. We will not tolerate disrespect!
We request the strict application of the regulations by the referees and VARists. And of course the exemplary punishment of those who do not apply them!
In our last match there was an unprecedented alteration of the result for the VAR era. The whole of sports-loving Greece saw it and no organized propaganda can mislead.
Beyond that though, we saw some overall poor refereeing, far below what everyone should want for Super League. And a management in the disciplinary control with yellow cards against us for no reason and a series of reverse whistles against us.
Some may want Greek football to return to times… Shack! AEK will in no way allow this to happen. And this should be taken seriously…”
