For challenges by the vice-president of PAE Olympiacos Alexis Kougia at Opap Arena on the sidelines of the derby of the 2nd matchday of the playoffs, AEK spoke, pointing out that such attitudes “you no longer see in Greece, even in a third-category amateur stadium”.
The Association proceeded with the following information to the media: “It is with great regret that we have to note that yesterday at the OPAP Arena, we had unprecedented provocative phenomena that were fortunately ignored by our crowd, who fully responded to our appeals before the game became irrelevant.
Because we were sure there would be. Unfortunately, the vice-president of Olympiakos Kougias, with his appearance on the balcony of the guest team’s suite, started to challenge our fans who were nearby. There were insults, gestures, first ironic and then vulgar.
We repeat that it is to the honor of our fans, that they ignored this extremist behavior that is unprecedented in our stadium”, specifically stated by the yellow and black PAE”.
To conclude the relevant information: “We must emphasize that the behavior of this particular person was completely isolated in relation to the other members of the Olympiakos team. For whom (including Kuya of course) we once again made sure they had the best possible hospitality.
And from their side, there was full cooperation, we have no complaints, as a result of which there was absolutely no problem, as there has not been in the previous times when we have hosted Olympiakos. We have never been provoked, nor have we of course ever provoked Faliro and we show a corresponding spirit of cooperation.
Until yesterday the specific factor came to see this individual behavior that you no longer see in Greece even in a third amateur category stadium. It is characteristic that the other vice-president of Olympiakos, Mr. Agrafiotis, himself called on the specific agent to stop this behavior.”
