Honorary teacher from Sukabumi, West Java, Susan experiencing paralysis and visual disturbances after the second stage of the COVID-19 vaccination. Chairman of the National Commission for Post-Immunization Association Events (KIPI), Prof. Hindra Irawan Satari, said that his party had finished investigating.
“(The results of the investigation) have been done, the teacher has returned home because it shows improvement, with control to RSHS (Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung),” said Hindra detikcom, Sunday (2/5/2021).
Hindra said the results of the investigation were not proven between Susan’s illness and the COVID-19 vaccination she was undergoing. According to him, this is not enough evidence.
“There is not enough evidence to show a link between AEFI and the immunization given,” he said.
Hindra explained that from the results of the diagnosis by the doctor in charge of the patient (DPJP), Susan experienced guillain barre syndrome. This condition is a neurological disease.
“The diagnosis of the RSHS DPJP: guillain barre syndrome, “he said.
Previously, the Executive Board (PB) of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) asked the state to attend the case teacher Susan who experience paralysis and visual disturbances after the second stage of the COVID-19 vaccination.
This was revealed by Dudung Nurullah Koswara, Chairman of PB PGRI who said he was an honorary teacher Susan already running the government program by following the stage one and two vaccinations.
“Mrs. Susan has participated in the government program, the first and second vaccines, meaning she is an educational apparatus, even though she hasn’t served the ASN yet, she has been serving the community, she has already followed the government program, she did not mean that she vaccinated one, took the second vaccine after she was sick,” said Dudung to detikcom, Saturday (1/5/2021).
Dudung explained that the presence of the state is very necessary to guarantee protection to Susan. “So the state must be present, to guarantee protection psychologically, financially and in the future, Mrs. Susan,” he explained.
As a teacher, Dudung also assesses Susan’s role as very important as other teachers in Indonesia. Teachers are one of the defenses of the country.
“Teachers are national defense through the process of printing human resources so that all teachers are strategic, starting from teachers, journalists, and the public, whoever leads to the world of education, has actually transmitted the power of national defense through human resources.
