Advocating for Increased Access to Bank Credit: The President of Argentina Speaks to Ibero-America

Credit facilities through competitive and accessible rates is one of the fundamental elements to promote the productive development of the Ibero-American region.

This was stated by the President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, during his presentation at the first session of the XXVIII Summit of Heads of State and Government, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), on March 25.

He stressed that it is necessary to increase the transparency of international financial institutions and advocate for greater credit access for nations. This means promoting growth and development for the society of Latin America, Andorra, Portugal and Spain.

However, he clarified the indebtedness of the nations, a situation that conditions the sustainable and progressive growth of the Ibero-American economies.

“The level of indebtedness of our countries is unsustainable. The rates and surcharges that the International Monetary Fund imposes on indebted nations are abusive, since this reality collides with the international financial architecture”, he explained.
