Advocate in New York promotes dialogue and consensus on state water policies through Lingerie.

The head of the Greater Buenos Aires Union of Sanitary Works Workers (Sgbatos), José Luis Lingeri, affirmed today that “the universalization of water and sanitation services requires the public sector, companies, workers, academia and users” .

In this context, he advocated “dialogue and consensus in the realization of transgenerational State policies”

He stated it in the 2nd. United Nations World Water Conference in New York City.

Lingeri is also president of the Sgbatos Sanitation Workers’ Foundation for Training and Development (Futrasafode).

The main objective of the conference is “to foster support to achieve the internationally agreed goals and targets related to water and those included in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” it was reported in a statement.

Lingeri was the main speaker at the Side Events “Water and Hope: Experiences and Challenges for the Promotion of Sustainable Development and the Care of Our Common Home” organized by Futrasafode, a Sgabtos foundation that gave rise to the University of Water, selected as a of the five Argentine organizations to participate in the conference.

The Argentine leader said that “for us the question is very simple. Water is life. There is no doubt. Water is health, food, growth and development. It is work, education, culture and beauty. We are here proposing agreements for action that are stable, lasting and sustainable, and this forces us to assume an attitude that promotes peace and global coexistence from an integral perspective”.
