FUpper Austrian without a driver’s license fled the police check in Gerstenfeld.

In St. Valentin (Amstetten district), an Upper Austrian was stopped on Monday afternoon who, according to the Lower Austria State Police Directorate, was driving a desolate car. The 29-year-old from the Urfahr area initially fled before he was found lying in a barley field. He does not have a driver’s license and the car was not registered.

According to the police, the man initially stopped on the instructions of uniformed officers, but then stepped on the gas. After ramming a pile of wood with his car on a dirt road, the Upper Austrian fled on foot into a field, where he was caught. His identity was finally clarified at the St. Valentin police station. Small amounts of amphetamine were found in the 29-year-old’s backpack. The man is now expecting reports to the St. Pölten public prosecutor’s office and the Amstetten district authority.
