“They always worked in the cleaning, namely my mother. When they came for good, they saw that there was a gap in Mirandela in the cleaning sector and they created this company”, says José Luís Freitas, adding that, “at that time, they sought to have the most innovative equipment”.

“People were impressed with the techniques applied and with the company’s concept”, recalls the couple’s son, who took over Tualimpa’s management in 1997.

Since then, “we have grown and are more consolidated in the market, and our main objective is to build customer loyalty”.

The work has borne fruit. Proof of this is that, 30 years later, the company has more than 500 customers, not only in the region, but also outside of it. “Our headquarters are in Mirandela and we have been expanding our areas of activity to Macedo de Cavaleiros, Bragança, Vila Real, Amarante and Porto”, he says.

SERVICES

Here, “we do periodic or occasional cleaning services, transversal to several sectors, from the hospital, industrial, residential area, cleaning of condominiums or offices”.
To this end, “we have a team of around 100 employees and the methods are adapted to the needs of each client”, admitting that “equipment and chemical products are important, but without human resources nothing can be achieved”.

This leads us to question recruitment. At a time when it is difficult to hire, in various sectors, are there people available to do cleaning? José Luís Freitas guarantees that yes, and proof of this is that “we receive many CVs”. However, “our level of demand is high, we have very strict criteria”. Even so, he is proud to say that “we have employees who have been with the company for several years and, therefore, little team turnover”. “This gives confidence to the customer and stability to the employees”, he stresses.

And he does not forget the “troubled” phase during the Covid-19 pandemic, in which “the teams did not abandon ship and rose to the challenge”.

Without wanting to talk about numbers, in this case, billing, José Luís Freitas sees the future of Tualimpa with optimism. In the coming years, he confesses, “our focus is on consolidating the company and continuing to grow”.

To mark the 30th anniversary of Tualimpa, the company gathered employees and their families for dinner, as a way of “living together and thanking everyone for their commitment”, concludes José Luís Freitas.
