– It was completely adventurous, I was completely like “wow”, says Peter Ledzbor, who believed he had observed an antelope-like animal on Thursday evening.
Exotic animal
– I have never seen such an animal in Norway before, says a clearly elated Ledzbor.
On a bike ride by the Kismulelva in Fana, he observed a strange animal. He rode past at first, but decided to turn around to double check that he hadn’t seen visions.
– I didn’t believe what I saw, I thought I got, he says.
According to Dezbor, the animal should have been lying quietly by itself, and should not have reacted to him when he cycled past.
– It was huge, the size of a large male deer, with long horns the size of its body, says Ledzbor.
He cycled back to the animal to secure a photo as proof of the sighting. When he returned, the animal was in exactly the same position, as unbroken as before.
– It’s completely wild, I have no idea what animal it could be or how it ended up here, says Dezbor.
– Maybe it has a connection with the exotic feline, he speculates.
He refers to a large feline being observed in Os last week.
Chamois, a popular vessel
BA becomes just as curious as the tipster and investigates the case. We try to call a couple of zoologists, without getting an answer. Furthermore, we try our luck with the reptile Remi at the Aquarium. Maybe he knew someone? The image will be distributed to both farmers and the Animal Park in Kristiansand.
However, the solution to the mystery would turn out to come from a farm not far from the Kismulelven, namely Framne’s farm.
Everyone involved must laugh when they learn the answer.
– This is Gemsen, a very popular vessel, says Solveig Lilletvedt.
She is a farm owner and board member of Fana Bueskytterklubb, and Gemsen is one of the largest 3D animals in the club’s portfolio.
– Reported to the police
The chamois is therefore not an exotic animal that has strayed into Fana, but an animal target in three-dimensional archery.
It turns out that it is not the first time that the “antelope” has caused attention.
– Gemsen was the cause of a big uproar last year when he lined up in his first season as a target for the little-known sport, says Lilletvedt.
Then, too, someone had observed him where he was standing, within visible distance of the cycle path. Last year, the observers called the police and accused the shooters of hunting illegally, says the archer.
– The patrol arrived at the scene shortly afterwards and had a good laugh.
According to Lilletvedt, they were given a brief introduction to the sport and were reassured by the fact that Gemsen apparently took it all stoically.
– To all who are wondering; Gemsen takes his job very seriously, lies completely still and is so heavy that you don’t have to think about moving him.
Lilletvedt says that Gemsen has contributed to helping two of the Bergen Archers to participate in the EC in 3D archery. Those who will participate in the EC in the not so well known sport are Janne Møinichen Brantzæg and Per-Ivar Pahlm.
– We, and Gemsen of course, cheer them on, says Lilletvedt.
