Toyota Avanza is still solid at the top the best-selling car in Indonesia to September 2022. It can be seen that car sales of one million people are still the highest compared to other models, while Wuling Air EV makes a surprise
According to detikoto from distribution data from the Indonesian Automobile Industries Association (Gaikindo), Toyota Avanza’s wholesale sales in the ninth month reached 6,855 units. That makes the car of a million people still perched on Indonesia’s best-selling car list, for the period of September 2022.
Just below the Avanza, the tiny Honda Brio is perched. Brio’s wholesale sales, both RS and Satya models, reached 6,246 units. In third place is the Kijang Innova with 5,426 units.

The newcomer Hyundai Stargazer is still hard to match the superiority of the Avanza. Stargazer sales for all of September reached just 2,839 units. This figure is also still below the Low MPV which is also its rival, the Mitsubishi Xpander.
Sales of Xpander are still slightly better at a notch of 3,743 units. In this way, the Hyundai Stargazer had to settle for the eleventh best-selling car.
The surprise came with the inclusion of the Wuling Air EV electric car in the list of the 20 best-selling cars in Indonesia. This is the first time an electric car has entered this list, plus the Wuling Air EV is also new, as it was only officially sold a few months ago.
