Advances in the vaccination process in Cuba against COVID-19

The Group of experts of the Ministry of Public Health, created to evaluate the impact of vaccination against COVID-19, carried out in the last hours an analysis of the accumulated data of this process in the country, in relation to the clinical indicators- epidemiological.

Of the total of immunized cases, 21 thousand 365 people had been confirmed with the disease, for 0.83% and 99 deaths were accumulated, representing 0.0038%.

The study closes on August 10, 2021, where the total number of people with a complete vaccination scheme amounted to 2 million 907 thousand 386, of which they were considered fully vaccinated (immunized), having elapsed 14 days after the third dose, 2,560,173. These results are evidence of the impact that the vaccination process is having.

The country to that date accumulated 11 million 001 thousand 829 doses applied, with 25.5% of its population fully vaccinated.

Vaccination is progressing, according to the approved strategy, and will accelerate in the coming weeks. These data constitute the first evidence of the impact that the vaccination process has had in reducing mortality in vaccinated people.
