Advances in the HPV vaccine were also announced at the Coeva session

At the second regular meeting of the State Vaccination Council (Coeva), chaired by Martha Janeth Espinosa Mejía, Secretary of Health of the Government of the State of Colima, with representatives of IMSS, ISSSTE, Sedena, Navy, Secretary of Education, DIF, Delegation of Well-being Programs, analyzed the coverage of the Permanent Vaccination Program by age group and type of biological that have been achieved in the first quarter of 2023, with emphasis on the SRP and Hexavalent vaccines.

They announced the progress of the vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 and the closure of the campaign against seasonal influenza, as well as the progress of the operation to recover vaccination doses against the Human Papilloma Virus. Espinosa Mejía indicated that the First National Public Health Day 2023 is near, in which they will combine all the preventive actions that the Health Sector offers to the population, to help preserve the health of the population.

The Secretary of Health said that it is important that advances in vaccination are known and establish strategies to achieve coverage that guarantees the prevention of preventable diseases. She highlighted the importance of children in Colima having complete vaccination schemes and thus avoiding complications from preventable diseases that can even cause death.

The State Vaccination Council approved several agreements, such as strengthening the permanent vaccination campaign, holding Health Education sessions and the benefits of vaccination in the population, aimed at teachers, mothers, fathers and/or guardians of girls and boys; conduct workshops to raise awareness of the benefits of vaccination in schools, the handling of biologicals and the safety of the cold network (storage and transport of biologicals until they are applied to people).
