In practice, anyone who wants to organize an event can appeal to the Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) of the Flemish government. Anyone who wants to can apply for a premium. This amounts to a minimum of 25,000 euros and a maximum of sixty percent of the organizational costs, with an upper limit of 800,000 euros.
“For example, who organizes a concert,” says Crevits, “can request an advance, which you in principle have to repay later. But if an event does not take place due to corona measures, they do not have to pay. We want to avoid that people do not dare to take the risk. because there are fears that the government will impose restrictive measures. “
