Rumen Gaitanski-Valka volunteered today at the Anti-Corruption Commission together with a lawyer. He was familiar with the sentencing order.
Gaitanski’s lawyer Konstantin Simeonov explained this to bTV. Gaitansky declined to answer questions. He was detained for 72 hours during the National Investigation.
Yesterday it became clear that the perpetrator, according to the prosecutor’s office, was Stoyan Mavrodiev, the former head of the Bulgarian Development Bank, who is still unknown, and Gaitanski and the lawyer Ivan Georgiev supporters.
According to Gaitanski’s defense, the businessman tried to contact the Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday.
“In the morning, he contacted investigators from the Corruption Investigation Commission. He agreed to join his colleague Krasimir Donkov in the afternoon at 2:30 pm and was returned. He did not give any explanation,” explained lawyer Konstantin Simeonov.
The allegation is about a loan of 150 million BGN from BBR to Gaitanski’s company.
According to the lawyer Simeonov, on the day Gaitanski’s properties were searched, he was in Greece, but he returned the same day and crossed the border safely.
“The attack is against Rumen Gaitanski and through him against Ahmed Dogan,” said Simeonov.
The only person detained in the BBR case – lawyer Ivan Georgiev – was released earlier today on BGN 50,000 bail. He did not pay the amount and will appeal.
