The immunization strategy will be carried out in a staggered manner and it will start with the four risk groups designed by the Department of Healthwith the aim of immunize as soon as possible to the target and most vulnerable population. It is the usual strategy of recent years, although this year the great news is the vaccination of minors between three and five years in the more than 500 schools, started earlier this week.
It is expected to immunize about 1.2 million people. This is the figure reached last year, when it was marked a record with the vaccination of 1,162,000 Valencians. Of them, 609,431 were in the province of Valencia; 428,806, in Alicante; and 123,796, in Castellón.
Experts recommend the double immunization -against the flu and the coronavirus- because, as Minister Marciano Gómez explains, it has demonstrated “the reduction in serious cases and secondary complications of the flu.” These include pneumonia or an increased risk of suffering from a myocardial infarction or stroke.
When is each group vaccinated?
After vaccination in schools, The first to be vaccinated will be the four risk groupsto whom it will go quoting via text message or SMS to assign them an appointment. Once these are completed, health centers will begin immunizing the general population.
The four risk groups are:

The novelty of the strategy in schools seeks to “reinforce the protection of minors” with the aim of “avoiding possible infections.” They are the first to suffer from the disease as shown by the epidemiological curves.
