Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

A hospital in the US is treating Alzheimer’s using a controversial drug made by Biogen Inc.

The drug, named Aduhelm, was injected into Mark Archambault, a 70-year-old man from Rhode Island. This is the first time the drug has been injected into a patient, even though user approval is still being debated.

Aduhelm received FDA approval because it is considered to reduce brain plaque which is one of the causes of Alzheimer’s. However, there are doctors who do not agree with granting permission to Aduhelm.

They claim to be very careful about suggesting the use of Aduhelm to patients with advanced stages.
