Adriana Lima can obviously understand the excitement surrounding her recent appearance on the red carpet: In an interview with “Harper’s Bazaar Arabia,” the model talks about negative comments on photos from the premiere of “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” in November in Los Angeles.
Regarding comments that she looked completely different, Lima explained in the interview: “That didn’t bother me at all.” She’s very strong in that regard, “and honestly, I looked at myself before I went out and I did felt great. I was with my kids and they looked at me and said, ‘Mom! You look so beautiful!'”
“Everything was strange”
While she wasn’t bothered by the negative comments that followed her appearance, she told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia that she was “shocked” when she saw the photos of herself on the red carpet. “I thought, ‘That’s not me,'” the model recalls. “Everything was strange because I don’t see myself that way. I still don’t see myself that way… you can see yourself differently.”
The 42-year-old continued: “I wasn’t offended or anything though – I laughed,” she continued. “The point is, I’m not 16 years old. I started modeling when I was 16, but I’ll never be 16 again. I’m 42 and the happiest person I’ve ever been; the happiest with myself. That’s me.” I embrace my age and won’t change for anyone.
