Adriana Coogler: First Hispanic Federal Reserve Governor Confirmed by U.S. Senate

The U.S. Senate confirmed economist Adriana Coogler to the Federal Reserve Board (Fed) at its plenary session on Wednesday. The vote was 53 in favor and 45 against. She will be the first Hispanic policy maker in Fed history.

On June 6, the Senate confirmed Jefferson as Fed Vice Chairman. Jefferson will be the second black vice president. He also approved a new 14-year term for Cook. Cook is the first black woman to serve on the board. She said the Biden administration emphasizes diversity in its nominations for Fed governors.
