Adrian Suar received a tribute at the Martin Fierro Awards 2024 and stated that this year “the icing on the cake was missing: the fiction was missing, the actors were missing.”
In this regard, he clarified that his absence does not refer to the distinctions and continued: “I hope we return, it is not easy to make fiction, not because of a lack of talent, of which there is plenty, but because of the costs.”
The recognition of Suar began with a souvenir film with various personalities such as Chat, Juan Alberto Badíahis most notable series and novels: a tour of his career and most iconic productions.
In the same video, they reviewed the Martín Fierro awards previously received by the production company, such as Verdad o consecuencias, Gasoleros, Campeones, Son amores, Padre Coraje, Socias among others and the gold recognitions.
At the end of the video, the actor’s voice was heard in voiceover: “So much love in that production company, so much affection.”
When Suar went up to receive the award, he began his speech with humor: “Hello Susana,” he began, and continued: “I had seen the video, but seeing it now, with all of you here, moved me because it is part of the story of my life, a very important one.”
“I have to be deeply grateful for everything that happened to me. First of all, my channel, El 13, since I started running after a program called Pelito and then La banda del Golden Rocket,” he reflected.
He also highlighted “my people at Pol-Ka. When it started, I was in my 20s, it was a cultural and artistic movement with great artistic inspiration. They were all excited. We did more than 80 programs, many of them very bad, but many very good.”
“Hoy Pol-Ka is on hold and I hope it reopens its doors,” Suar stressed and explained: “More than a producer, I consider myself a maker.”
“I dedicate it mainly to those of my kind, who are actors, to those who taught me and made me shine with those enormous fictions. When I started I was very young and I had to find my way. It was always from the heart, I understand my actors and actresses very well,” said the producer.
“I thank the people because without them we would be nothing: one is thanks to the people. Television gives you the possibility of entering thanks to the people. I am the television that I saw and all of us here are what we saw and were inspired by. That is why the effect of inspiration is so important,” he stressed.
To conclude, Suar thanked his PolKa – his grandmother – and his children. “At some point I will remain in the memory of Argentine television. I have not retired and I will continue doing things for 20 more years,” he concluded.
