With a twinkle in his eye and memorable performances, he charmed TV viewers in the autumn’s “Stjernekamp” on NRK.
– An internal battle
On the way to the popular “mascot”, Adrian Sellevoll (25) has been through turbulent years of excessive partying, but also as a profiled participant in various reality programs such as “Ex on the Beach”, “Farmen”, “Shall we dance” and “71° North”.
Today, he has found a new peace in life, and does not hide what has been most important to him throughout the journey.

Role model
– It’s my family. The most important woman in my life is undoubtedly my mother, but I have also always had a special relationship with my grandfather. He is my role model! says an excited Adrian to Se og Hør.
We meet him on a fine autumn day in Frognerparken in Oslo.
– The difficult feelings returned
– Grandfather has always been a cool guy with a lot of energy, which I feel is reflected in me. We are very similar, also in terms of appearance. It is absolutely sick! he smiles and eagerly shows off a picture of grandfather Svein Arne as a 25-year-old. There is no doubt that they look alike.

He tells of a grandfather with great commitment.
– Grandfather shares everything I do on Facebook. He is so proud that I do music, because he has done that too. He shares videos, statuses, writes congratulations and brags uncontrollably! It’s so cool. Grandfather is really someone I highly value and love, says Adrian with a smile that speaks of love.

Spoiled
– It is always a pleasure to come home to them. At grandma and grandpa’s I get good food, chocolate, coffee and cakes. Grandma bakes and manages, and spoils me! When I was little, she picked me up from nursery school, and every time there was a Vestlandslefse for me in the car’s ashtray, he recalls with a smile.

Adrian makes no secret of the fact that, until six months ago, he lived a debauched life, with a lot of drinking and partying. It started when he was 15-16 years old. Nevertheless, he has never experienced condemnation from his family.
AT THE COTTAGE: Throughout his upbringing, Adrian was a frequent guest at his grandmother’s and grandfather’s cabin in Gulen. Here he is standing in front of the boathouse, which grandfather built. – They have seen me in all situations. My grandmother and grandfather have also always supported me and loved me for who I am. I have been honest with them, perhaps more so than with my own parents. They are a bit crazy themselves! he smiles.
Regret this
– For mum it has been a little worse. She has been worried and has not slept well in recent years, but now she is confident that I am fine and has regained my night’s sleep. I’m happy about that, says Adrian thoughtfully.
– I kept a little distance from my family when I was drunk, to spare them. It was a relief for everyone that I changed my lifestyle.

Relieved
Grandfather Svein Arne Jørgensen (81) confirms Adrian’s story, but says that it has not always been easy to cope with his way of life.
– Adrian is a sensitive person. If you get behind his shell first, you will find the world’s kindest boy. But I must honestly admit that I was worried about the boy when things were at their worst, and all the more happy and relieved that he has got on the track he is on now. If he continues there, he will have a good future, he says on the phone from Bergen.

– We have had Adrian visit when he was not completely sober, but we have only talked to him, without condemning him, because he has never done anything wrong or made a fuss, says grandmother Wenche (79).
– Adrian is actually a loving boy who loves his family. He is easily touched, and constantly tells us how much he loves us, she says.

It will be dramatic in the last episode of “Reality legends” when Adrian Sellevoll is the main guest. The Bergen artist has had several near-death experiences, which he shares with the rest of the group. Produced by: Simpl Show more
Grandfather Svein Arne himself has a past as an artist. He was the drummer in the popular Bergen band “The Stringers” in the 60s, where both Rune Larsen and Helge Nilsen were members.
– Adrian follows a bit in my footsteps, so he is probably inspired by my past as a “pop star”, he says a little proudly.
Reveals details about the relationship
He recalls an episode with his music-interested grandson when he was little:
– I told Adrian that he would get my drum set when I died. Then the boy went to his grandmother and asked: “Do you think it will be a long time before grandfather dies?” he says with a resounding laugh.

Had luck
Adrian’s debauched life came to an abrupt end. A year ago, things were about to go horribly wrong for the 25-year-old, who has always liked to take chances.
– I decided to go swimming at night in Bergen. I jumped from a roof, slipped, and hit the dock head first. It resulted in a broken neck, broken jaw, broken collarbone and injuries all over the body. It was a wake-up call, he says today, shaking his head slightly.

– It was idiotic, and something I should of course never have done, especially after a long day of drinking alcohol. It was just luck that it wasn’t even worse.
– What was the reason for your extensive use of alcohol?
– It took a bit of the sting out of the nerves, Adrian explains and continues:

– I have always been a bit shy. Then I “drank it away”, to be comfortable. I was a lot in the city and in environments where alcohol was offered all the time. In the end it was enough. It was too much. Half a year ago, I suddenly made a simple choice – and stopped drinking during the day. It went surprisingly easy. You just have to learn to say no.
– Also, I want to be a good role model for the kids, and you can’t be that if you’re a jerk all the time. The result is that I have become a completely different guy, and have gotten to know myself anew. It’s the best feeling I’ve ever had, Adrian smiles today.
DANCED WITH PROMILLE: In 2019, Adrian took part in “Shall we dance”, with Lillian Aasebø as dance partner. – What is the most important thing you have learned from these years – and the transition to a new and better life?
– To not take things for granted, perhaps. I did that before. I feel that I have not appreciated enough the things I have experienced, and I have experienced a lot. Now I appreciate simple things like sitting here in the park, thinking, cycling around and being alone – not least. I didn’t like being alone before. Now I love it. It probably means I’ve grown up a bit, he smiles.
MODEL AND MUSICIAN: The rapper Adrian has also made a name for himself as a model. He worked for two years in Milan as a model for Armani, Birkenstock and Puma. Now he likes to dress up in Märtha Louise’s own clothing brand “Hést”, which is one of his personal favourites! Photo: Tore Skaar / Se og Hør Show more
– I am working on my new album, which will be entitled “Welcome to adulthood”. It will be very personal, with a lot of emotions coming out, with both gloom and heartbreak. But otherwise I’m doing very well at the moment, and I’m looking forward to life!
