Adrian Newy returns to Red Bull after serious injuries: F1LV Blog

Helmut Marko, an adviser to the Red Bull team, has announced that Adrian Newy, the unit’s technical manager, has returned to work after injuries in a summer car accident.

Adrian Newly has not been seen in Formula 1 since the beginning of July. Knowing the British engineer’s passion for various projects, there was not much fuss about this situation. As it turns out, Newly has dedicated this time to rehabilitation from injuries caused by an accident while riding a bicycle.

New 62-year-old had to undergo several surgeries, which left him unable to perform his job for several weeks. Newly has not yet fully regained his physical shape, but has returned to work and has already found a problem with the regulations that prevented the Red Bull team from competing for victory on the track built in Istanbul last stage in Turkey.

Adrian Newly is considered one of the key people in Red Bull’s success. Prior to that, he took Nigel Mansell, Allen Prost and Damon Hill to the titles with Williams, and developed the McLaren formula, allowing Mike Hakinen to become a two-time world champion. Newby joined the Red Bull team in 2006.

There have been rumors recently that Newney may move to the Aston Martin team with his former colleague Sebastiana Fetela. He has previously collaborated with a British carmaker on street supercar projects. Unit owner Lawrence Strols comments cautiously on these statements, pointing out that success is about the right attitude and thinking within a team of 700 people, not one person.
