As in a fairy tale, a woman from Virginia, USA, has just discovered that she is the daughter of a noble family in her native West Africa.

It was Sarah Culberson, a 46-year-old woman. He has been adopted since he was a few months old and was raised by his adoptive family, Jim and Judy Culberson, a white couple from Uncle Sam’s state.

Sarah has been searching for her true identity and lineage since she was 21. In that period she began to know the figure of her mother of her. But her mother had died of cancer 10 years before her.

Then he began to worry about finding his father because he had doubts because he was afraid and felt it would be difficult to accept. Eventually, she took her friend’s advice and hired a private investigator to find her real father.

The investigation led Sarah to meet her biological aunt who lived near Maryland and then with her father. Who could have thought about it, it turns out that her father is Joseph Konia Kposowa, a man from Sierra Leone who is the head of a family of the highest tribe, namely Mende a Bumpe.

This then surprised Sarah, who was then 28 years old. Because that means she is the daughter of a “noble” family there, Mom.

At that moment Sarah decided to return to her homeland, the Mother. When she set foot there, she was warmly welcomed by hundreds of people with lively dancing and singing.

The situation is bleak. Existing schools and communities were vandalized and destroyed. The gravity of the situation led Sarah to devote herself to founding the Sierra Leone Rising non-profit foundation.

The foundation supports education, women’s empowerment and public health safety. It also helped educate on the use of masks in Africa as a campaign to control the transmission of COVID-19.

“My life has completely changed. Being a princess means responsibility,” she said.
