Kottayam: Adoor Gopalakrishnan wants to drive away the officials who are saying that the auditorium that screens classic films that foster great cinema culture needs a license. He was inaugurating Kottayam Public Library Chithara Mini Theater and Keralayam Film Festival. His reaction came when the President of the Public Library, Abraham Iticheria, who presided over the meeting, mentioned that two officials of the Municipal Corporation had come to ask if the Public Library mini theater hall had a license.

It is up to each individual to decide what to watch. Film societies do not require a license to screen good films. Such people should be chased away. Adoor also said that legal action should be taken if the license is insisted upon. A. Meera Sahib, Prakash Sridhar, Adv. VB Binu, Vinu Abraham, Sebastian Kattady, Mathews Orathel and KC Vijayakumar spoke.
