ADNOC and TAQA Complete Financial Closing for Sustainable Water Supply Project

(Reuters) – Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA): * ADNOC and TAQA announce the completion of the financial closing process for a sustainable water supply project. * Energy: The sustainable seawater treatment plant and transportation network will enhance energy efficiency by up to 30 percent in ADNOC’s onshore operations. * Energy: Redirecting more than 60 percent of the total value of the project to the UAE economy. * A consortium composed of Orascom Construction (EGX:) and Metito will build a central seawater treatment facility and a transmission and distribution network. * ADNOC and TAQA jointly own a majority stake of 51 percent (25.5 percent each), and the consortium owns the remaining 49 percent in the project company. * A group of nine local and international banks will finance the project.
