There are currently 317 corona patients in Belgian hospitals, 96 of whom are in intensive care units.
In the week from 21 to 27 July, an average of 1,418 new infections were registered daily. That is a decrease of 4 percent compared to the week before, but there were also a quarter fewer tests. During that same period, an average of about 55,300 tests were performed per day. The positivity rate remains stable at 2.9 percent.
The average number of deaths in the same period increased slightly to 2.7 per day. Fortunately, thanks to the high vaccination coverage, that number remains relatively low.
