Hockey players from Salavat Yulaev Ufa lost away to Admiral Vladivostok with a score of 2:3 in the sixth match of the first round of the Fonbet-KHL playoffs and were eliminated from the Gagarin Cup.

Pavel Shen (30th minute), Ivan Yemets (34th) and Anton Berlev (58th) scored goals as part of the winners. Oleksandr Chmielewski scored a double for the losers (17, 46)

The score in the series up to four wins became 4–2 in favor of the Admiral. The Vladivostok club was the second from the Eastern Conference to reach the 1/4 finals. On the eve of this, Avangard succeeded.

“Admiral” for the first time in its history was able to overcome the first round of the playoffs. In their previous three playoffs, the Far East won no more than two victories and won four matches in total.

Admiral became the fifth team in KHL history and the first in the Eastern Conference to win a playoff series while seeded seventh or lower. This is the first time in the Gagarin Cup since 2016.

For the first time since the 2016/17 season, the Ufa club failed to reach the quarterfinals, Salavat Yulaeva lost the first round playoff series for the sixth time in KHL history.

In the regular season, Salavat Yulaev took second place in the Eastern Conference standings, Admiral – seventh.

The Vladivostok club made it to the KHL playoffs for the first time since the 2016/17 season. Then “Admiral” in the series of the first round lost to Omsk “Avangard” (2-4).
