St. John’s wort tea is made from the aerial parts of the plant, more precisely, from its flowers and leaves. Tea can be obtained by infusing or boiling dried plants in hot water. They are left to infuse for about 5-10 minutes, then the tea is strained and can be consumed hot or cold.

St. John’s wort tea is often used as a natural remedy for treating disorders of the digestive system and anxious or depressive states.

Thanks to its antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant and anxiolytic properties, St. John’s wort tea can be consumed to relieve the symptoms of some ailments, such as:

biliary colic; dyspeptic syndrome; some liver disorders; gastritis; ulcer; depressive episodes; anxious states; insomnia; applied locally, St. John’s wort tea can act as an anti-inflammatory and cicatrizing agent for some minor wounds or minor burns.
