Adif Advances Modernization and Electrification Plans for Madrid-Extremadura Railway Line

Adif has taken a new step in the process of modernizing and improving the 157 kilometer section between Illescas (Toledo) and Talayuela (Cáceres), on the conventional railway line between Madrid and Extremadura, as reported by the company, by putting out to tender the drafting of the project to adapt gauges and stations in this section to adapt them to the conditions of the future electrification of this line, whose project is in the drafting phase.

In addition, the Ministry of Transport announces that it has put out to tender the services contract for the drafting of the Feasibility Study of the Plasencia-León railway connection, which seeks to reactivate the Ruta de la Plata railway corridor. The estimated tender budget exceeds 967,000 euros and has an expected execution period of 24 months, as published yesterday on the Public Sector Contracting Platform and will soon be published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
