Adidas Defeats Nike at World’s Oldest Marathon in Boston

Contrary to the custom that Nike has built in recent times, by occupying the first places in the finish line of the great marathons that take place in different countries, Adidas, the brand with the three stripes, reaped a very important victory running at home. The 127th edition of the oldest marathon in the world took place last Monday in the city of Boston, in the United States. And I say local, because Adidas has accompanied the Boston Marathon for more than 3 decades as one of its most important sponsors.

In a splendid setting, with the participation of more than 30,000 professional and amateur runners, noted for being the most competitive in this discipline, and coming from more than 100 countries, the world witnessed a historic event, where two leading brands of products for runners fought to cross the finish line first: Nike and Adidas.

It is important to note that Nike is the most popular sports clothing and accessories brand worldwide, above its main adversaries: Adidas and Puma.

The rivalry is clear and the confrontation explosive. The greatest of all time, Eliud Kipchoge Wearing his Nike Alphafly 2, he faced very competitive runners in the streets of Boston, among which Evans Chebet stood out, wearing his Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3.

It was not a good day for Eliud, who little by little, during the second half of the event and after losing one of his hydration amphoras, fell behind, being widely surpassed by a group of runners, among which Chebet stood out, who finished the competition in first place, stopping the clock at 2 hours 5 minutes and 53 seconds. Eliud and Nike had to settle for sixth place.

Of the ten fastest runners in the 127th edition of the Boston Marathon, five wore Adidas, three Nike and two Asics. Adidas dominated: of the top five, four did so wearing Adidas. Adidas beat Nike, thereby defeating the greatest of all time.
