Adele’s “30” named worldwide album of the year

Every Adele album has been a worldwide hit. “30” is now given a special honor.

London – Adele’s blockbuster “30” has been named worldwide album of the year 2021 by the international music industry umbrella organization IFPI. It’s the 33-year-old singer’s fourth studio album (“Easy on Me”) and marks her return to music after a six-year hiatus.

The album, which was released last November, explores themes of motherhood and heartbreak. It’s also been influenced by her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki and being reunited with her estranged father before the latter’s death, according to Adele.

“30” topped the album charts in many countries, including five weeks in the UK. Adele was recently recognized for the album at the Brit Awards. dpa
