But over in the United Kingdom, the BBC did its best to keep the music festival vibe alive by replaying some of the most memorable moments from past Glastonbury lineups for fans to enjoy at home. As footage from former headliners like Beyoncé and Adele took over TV screens, awestruck viewers rushed to social media to celebrate. Among them: Adele herself.

The singer — who recently resurfaced on social media following her 2019 split from Simon Konecki — first set tongues wagging by posting a shot from her 2016 performance, a caption-free post that had her followers wondering if it was a clue that new tunes might be on the way.

The “Hello” star was quick to shut down album speculation.

“Corona ain’t over. I’m quarantining,” she told one commenter wondering if the post was a teaser for a new album, her first since 2015. “Wear a mask and be patient.”

Hours later, more became clear. Joking that she was “five ciders in,” a seemingly boozy Adele shared photos of her watching the Glastonbury action from her own living room. In one shot, the 32-year-old channels the summer festival-goer look with a portable fan. In the second, she’s her own biggest fan as she tunes into her headlining performance while wearing the same bespoke Chloé maxi dress she rocked in 2016. (A move straight out of J.Lo’s playbook, to be sure.)

The famously down-to-earth star’s tribute act to herself got some major love from fans, with one commenter calling her “the cutest.”

“That’s dope,” chimed in music producer Mark Ronson.
