Ten concerts by megastar Adele await fans in Munich. This is what concertgoers should know about the shows.

The British superstar Adele, 36, will spend August 2024 in Munich. The singer will perform in the Bavarian capital ten times. Eight years ago, she last played a total of six shows in Germany – in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. Originally, Adele apparently had no plans to be on stage this summer, but as she said in a Instagram post in January revealed that the offer was just too tempting. “A big party in the middle of Europe? In Munich? Sounds a bit random, but still fabulous!” the singer wrote euphorically.

The performances came as a surprise

The singer ended her last tour in 2016 and 2017 with a series of concerts at Wembley Stadium in London. In 2022 she then started her first concert residency “Weekends with Adele” in Las Vegas. So far, she has performed 45 weekends at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace. Five more weekends with two shows each will follow in October and November of this year. On January 31, 2024, the musician announced her performances in Munich.

When is Adele in Munich?

In total, Adele will perform twice per weekend over a period of five weeks. When the artist announced her Munich concerts, she initially only wanted to play four shows on August 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th. Due to high demand, six more dates were later added. There are now a total of ten concerts between August 2nd and 31st. The high demand is not surprising, as the gigs in Munich are the only Adele shows in all of Europe in 2024.

Where do the concerts take place?

A special feature of the concerts is the location where they will take place. A pop-up stadium made of tubular steel scaffolding was specially built for the singer’s shows on the concert grounds at the Munich Trade Fair in Riem. The arena will have a diameter of around 300 meters. There will be a unique combination of seating, seats and standing room. 80,000 fans are expected to attend every evening.

The easiest way to reach the site is by subway, via the Messestadt Ost stop. Alternatively, fans can take the U4 and U5 to Max-Weber-Platz, from where they can take the shuttle bus to the site. The S2 S-Bahn also runs to Riem, from where visitors have to walk a bit. Direct access to the site by car is not possible, but possible parking spaces will be signposted. The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

Where will Adele live?

The Grammy winner has apparently chosen a luxurious place for her stay in Munich. She will be staying in the elegant “Rosewood Hotel” in August, as reported by “Rolling Stone” among othersShe lives in an area of 451 square meters. A night in Adele’s suite costs 30,000 euros. For that, the superstar gets four bedrooms, six bathrooms and four living areas.

Tickets are not sold out yet

By the time pre-sale registration was complete, more than 2.2 million fans had registered for the ten open-air concerts at the Munich Trade Fair. The minimum price was 74.90 euros for a seat on the top level of the stands. Fans had to shell out over 400 euros for a seat directly in front of the stage.

Shortly before the concerts, however, there is still the prospect of very cheap tickets. The event provider Ticketmaster is offering so-called “Lucky Dip Tickets”. These cost 35 euros including all fees and are therefore less than half as expensive as the cheapest regular tickets. Which seats you get remains a surprise – it can be anything from the back seats to the front standing places. The allocation of the cheap tickets is staggered. The tickets for the first two performances on August 2nd and 3rd were sold out after just 20 minutes.
