Adele probably would never have performed again if she had let her concerts in Las Vegas go on a year and a half ago. The British pop singer confessed this this weekend during a performance in the American gambling city.
The artist told her fans in January last year, a day before her first show in Las Vegas, that all 24 concerts in the city could not take place. She was criticized for the last minute cancellation.
“I’m sure you’ve heard about the rocky start to my performances in Las Vegas,” the 34-year-old singer told her audience.
“A year and a half ago I had the guts to stand up for myself because I knew something was wrong. I disappointed a lot of people,” Adele said of the cancellation of the concerts. “But if I had let myself down, I probably would never have performed again and therefore not seen you again.”
All in all, Adele is happy that she moved her concerts back then. “I’m glad you’re all here too.”
A month ago, the singer burst into tears during a show in Las Vegas. That happened when she cited the postponement of the concerts. Adele also announced that she will continue her concerts in the American city. “34 evenings are not enough, so I’ll be back.”
