Adel Imam’s Son Confirms Retirement from Art: Egyptian Media Reports

Egyptian media announced the retirement of comedy star Adel Imam after years full of giving.
She said that his son, director Rami Imam, revealed on the sidelines of an artistic event that the leader decided to retire artistically after a long career full of dazzling artistic works between cinema, drama and theatre.

It was also reported that Rami Imam, the leader’s son, confirmed that his father decided to devote himself to family life and enjoy the family atmosphere among his children and grandchildren, noting that he enjoys good health. Last May, Adel Suleiman, Adel Imam’s business manager, published a group of pictures of the leader on his 83rd birthday, and celebrated. The leader is away at home, in the company of his family and a very small number of those close to him, and he appeared in pictures with his business manager as well as his brother Issam Imam.
It is noteworthy that 4 years have passed since Adel Imam’s last artistic appearance, when he presented the series “Valentino.” He then disappeared from the artistic scene, amid rumors about his health condition and talk about the difficulty of presenting new works.

Adel Imam, born on May 17, 1940, is considered one of the most famous and popular actors in Egypt and the Arab world, where he was famous for performing comedic roles mixed with political, romantic, and social issues films.

Adel Imam began his artistic career in the early sixties, and presented about 126 films, 16 series, 11 plays, and a radio series with the singer Abdel Halim Hafez, entitled “Please Don’t Understand Me Too Quickly.”
