Adel Imam Returns to Cinemas with “Alzheimer” Film to Celebrate His 84th Birthday

After an absence of 14 years, the Egyptian artist Adel Imam returns to cinemas, with a re-screening of his latest film “Alzheimer’s” to celebrate his 84th birthday.

The Egyptian artist and producer, Esaad Younis, decided to return the director to cinema halls, because the Arab Film Production and Distribution Company, which he owns, issued a statement in which she explained that Adel Imam’s film returned to cinema screens in Egypt and in the Arab countries within the framework of a new strategy aimed at celebrating… With artistic images that have good history in Egypt and the Arab world.

The general manager of the company, Ahmed Sobeih, also said that the celebration of the birth of Adel Imam is considered a humble tribute to an Arab cinematic icon of the twentieth century, noting that the heroes of the film will be present at the celebration that will be held in his honor, in addition to several stars.

The movie “Alzheimer’s” is going to be shown in all theaters in Egypt and in Arab countries starting on May 17, so that new generations can watch the latest cinematic works of the director.

It should be noted that the film “Alzheimer”, which was shown in 2010, is considered the last film of the director, before he announced his artistic career a few months ago after a career full of contribution, achievement and success.

Many stars participated in the action competition, in particular: Fathi Abdel Wahab, Ahmed Rizk, Rania Youssef, and Nelly Karim.

Retired from art

It should be noted that Rami Imam, the director’s son, announced in January that his father had decided to retire from art and devote himself to family life and enjoying the atmosphere of the family among his children and grandchildren, noting that he enjoys good health.

It should be noted that 4 years have passed since the last artistic appearance of Adel Imam, when he presented the “Valentino” series. He then disappeared from the art scene, amidst rumors about his health and talking about how difficult it is to present new works.

Adel Imam, born on May 17, 1940, is considered one of the most famous and popular actors in Egypt and the Arab world, where he was known for performing various comic roles with films of political, romantic and social issues.

The director began his artistic career in the early sixties, and gave about 126 films, 16 series, 11 plays, and a radio series with the singer Abdel Halim Hafez, entitled “Please Don’ t Understand Me Too Quick”.
