Meta, as the developer of WhatsApp, took a step forward in early 2023, opening up access and connection to a proxy server for users of its application. This feature allows users to continue sending and receiving messages when the Internet is blocked in their area, by accessing a proxy address provided by a volunteer or organization.
There are not many requirements to enter the proxy server. Meta only asks WhatsApp users to update to the latest version of the application they are using. In that case, WhatsApp users just need to find a working proxy server and then enter the proxy server address into the application. There are many free proxy servers around the world created by volunteers and organizations. Here are the free WhatsApp proxy addresses in Indonesia:

To help you reconnect to WhatsApp, you can set up a proxy using a server with available ports 80, 443 or 5222 and a domain name (or subdomain) pointing to the IP address of the server. Detailed instructions and source code are available on GitHub.
This feature can be used on Android or iOS devices. The method is simple, all you have to do is open the WhastApp settings, tap storage and data > Proxy. Then tap Use Proxy.
Next, enter the proxy address, then tap Save to connect it. If a checkmark appears, the connection is successful. But if you are still unable to send or receive WhatsApp messages using a proxy, then the proxy may have been blocked. Try again using a different proxy address.
For the record, using a third-party proxy will share your IP address with the provider of the proxy. And the third party proxy is not provided by WhatsApp.
WhatsApp guarantees that even connecting via proxy will maintain a high level of security. Your private messages will still be protected by end-to-end encryption, meaning messages will remain between you and the person you’re communicating with only. Your messages cannot be seen by other people, not even a proxy server, WhatsApp or Meta, aliases will not leak anywhere.
