additional restrictions will be introduced for Easter

In Kiev, the authorities will take the decision to weaken strict restrictions or to extend their effect, taking into account the dynamics of morbidity and occupancy of beds in hospitals, however, in any case, the capital will develop additional anti-epidemic rules and measures for Easter and May holidays.

The mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klichko stated, on Friday, April 16, during the online briefing.

“Everything will depend on the dynamics of morbidity and the occupancy of beds in the capital’s hospitals, primarily those equipped with oxygen supply. It is too early to talk about an improvement in the situation. Because, as we can see, neither the number of new infections, nor the number of hospitalized in serious condition is decreasing And the number of deaths is increasing. Also, in hospitals there are still a large number of critically ill patients who need oxygen support, “Klitschko stressed.

He noted that the introduction of strict restrictions allowed stabilizing the situation somewhat. However, it remains challenging. Therefore, on Easter and May holidays in the city, additional quarantine restrictions and rules will be introduced.

“That is why we have extended the quarantine. And now a lot depends on the people of Kiev themselves. – On how much they are aware of and take care of their health. How much they adhere to simple but important rules. Unfortunately, not everyone understands this. the easing of restrictions will be adopted by a commission on emergency situations of the city, which includes specialists in various fields, including doctors – infectious disease specialists and epidemiologists. We have Easter holidays ahead and we are already preparing additional anti-epidemic measures and norms so that after the holidays there is no infectious explosion . These rules are developed by the Commission for Emergency Situations of the city. And by Easter we will publish them, “- said Vitali Klitschko.

As previously reported OBOZREVATEL, in Kiev continued strict lockdown until April 30, due to the spread of coronavirus disease.
