Spokesperson for the Kulon Progo Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force, Baning Rahayujati, said that a total of 4,799 confirmed Covid-19 patients had cases causing 205 Neighborhood Associations (RT) in yellow zones, four orange zones, and one red zone.
“On Sunday (25/4) there was a daily addition of 28 cases. Along with the addition there was also one RT in the Kranggan Village area, Galur District which was in the red zone. The red zone is not a cluster, but in one RT there are more than three houses that are members. his family was confirmed positive, “said Baning in Kulon Progo, Monday (26/4/2021).
Apart from the red zone, the task force also recorded four orange zones from 12 sub-districts in Kulon Progo. The distribution of the orange zone includes Wates, Panjatan, Galur and Pengasih. Meanwhile, the majority of RT in other sub-districts are still in the yellow and green zone.
With the existence of a red zone and the increasing number of cases of Covid-19 transmission to date, Baning appealed to the public to remain obedient to the implementation of health protocols. Namely, by continuing to use a mask, maintaining distance and washing hands diligently.
“The increasing number of cases of transmission shows that Covid-19 is still there. It is around us, confirmed that Covid-19 is without symptoms. So we urge the public to always be vigilant,” he appealed.
Meanwhile, Fajar Gegana, Chair of the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force, said that his party would optimize the role and assignment of the task force at the village level. This was done to anticipate the addition of a red zone in Kulon Progo.
In addition, strict supervision will also be carried out in areas with orange and yellow zones so that they do not turn into red zones. His party will prohibit activities that invite large numbers of people such as celebrations with entertainment.
“Celebrations with entertainment are allowed to be held in the green zone. In addition, they will be prohibited, so we hope for public understanding and public awareness,” he said. []
